Mill City Cafe Announces Closing and Relocation
May 17, Minneapolis--
Northeast Minneapolis acclaimed breakfast, lunch, brunch (as well as dinner and event spot) Mill City Cafe announces that it will close for business on Sunday May 27th. We plan to reopen in the not too distant future, at an even more fabulous Northeast location. With an amazing patio, of course!
Mill City Cafe occupies the California Building at the corner of California and 22nd St. NE, which also holds studios, classes and businesses for artists of all stripes. Mill City Café has occupied its current space for 6 years. It was previously long loved as the former Mill City Coffee. We have since been recognized and honored by various media, including - 2006 Star Tribune, 2010 Mpls. St.Paul Magazine, 2011 KARE 11 Metromix Best Breakfast, and 2012 City Pages Top 10 Breakfasts - in addition to many happy customers that are almost like an extended family.
“We have been honored to be a part of this Northeast community and are grateful for every person who has enjoyed brunch on our patio, shared a meal with us, and chose to spend time here, says Mill City owner Mandy Zechmeister. “Our time in this beautiful space has been an amazing experience. And, we look forward to serving you all again at our new location.”
* Mill City Café will be hosting an open house/closing event on
Wednesday, May 30th from 5pm to 10pm.
We will have light food, abundant beverages and music, served by our current, and many of our former staff.
* Happily, due to the graciousness of the owners of The Anchor Fish & Chips making their kitchen available, we will continue to produce and provide our Veggie Burgers for them, and, by popular demand, we’re also looking for additional retail locations to sell our frozen 6-packs.
We will provide updates of our relocation and our build-out progress at our Mill City Cafe Facebook page and Twitter account.
